Ugandan dancehall star Fik Fameica has officially been unveiled as the brand ambassador for Spiro Uganda and East Africa, receiving a new Spiro Ekon electric motorcycle during a handover ceremony at the company’s facility in Kampala.
The rapper, whose real name is Shafik Walukagga, was handed the motorcycle keys at the event, marking a new partnership between the musician and the electric mobility company.
The bike bears registration number UMA 117NP. Following the handover, Fik took it for a spin around the facility and recorded a testimonial highlighting its efficiency, quiet operation and potential cost savings for everyday riders.
The unveiling follows Spiro’s announcement on July 15, 2026, naming Fik its regional brand ambassador for East Africa. Nigerian superstar Davido was also named the company’s global brand ambassador.

Why Spiro Chose Fik Fameica
Spiro Uganda says the partnership is intended to connect electric mobility with young people and the boda boda community, which plays a significant role in Kampala’s transport system and informal economy.
“Fik connects with young Ugandans and the boda community that relies on motorcycles for income. He is the perfect voice for our mission,” the company said.
For Fik, the collaboration represents more than a conventional celebrity endorsement. The rapper framed it as an opportunity to promote cleaner transport and greater economic accessibility.
“This is not just about motorcycles; this is a movement. A movement for cleaner transport, cheaper transport, and more opportunity for our people,” he said.
He also marked the moment with the Luganda phrase “Twesange ku baala!” which translates to “Let’s meet on the road!”
Spiro’s Electric Mobility Ambitions
The partnership comes as Spiro works to expand its electric motorcycle operations in Uganda. The company says it is targeting 50,000 electric bikes deployed by the end of 2026, supported by an expanding battery-swapping network intended to reduce downtime for riders.
Battery-swapping systems allow compatible electric motorcycles to exchange depleted batteries for charged ones, potentially reducing the time riders spend waiting to recharge and helping them return to work.

For boda boda operators, operating costs and time spent off the road can directly affect earnings. Spiro’s partnership with Fik is designed to make electric motorcycles more familiar and appealing to a wider audience.
The company describes itself as Africa’s largest electric vehicle company and Uganda’s leading electric vehicle provider, with a focus on electric motorcycles and battery-swapping infrastructure.
By bringing Fik Fameica into its regional campaign, Spiro is combining music, youth culture and electric transport in an effort to broaden awareness of its products.
The bigger test will be whether that visibility translates into wider adoption among riders who depend on motorcycles for their daily income.
