Frank Gashumba has urged people to enjoy the fruits of their hard work while they are still alive, arguing that accumulating wealth means little if it never improves the quality of life.
The media personality questioned the logic of building significant wealth and property while continuing to live a lifestyle he considers unnecessarily modest.
According to Gashumba, people should not completely sacrifice their present happiness in the pursuit of leaving behind money and assets for others to enjoy.
He challenged wealthy individuals to consider what happens to the wealth they accumulate after their death.
“How can you have arcades in Kampala and you still eat in low-end restaurants? How can you be so rich and it’s these pedicure small boys be the ones cutting your nails?”

Gashumba encouraged people who become financially successful to allow their lifestyles to reflect their circumstances, arguing that wealth should make everyday life easier.
“If God elevates you, elevate everything about you. Make the wills but enjoy your time on earth too. It doesn’t make sense to be so rich and you sleep and live poor, what’s the point of having the money then?”
He also suggested that wealthy people can use their money to free up their time by paying others to handle some of their daily responsibilities.
Among his suggestions was hiring people such as chefs to prepare meals, allowing those who can afford such services to spend more time enjoying their lives.
Gashumba acknowledged the importance of planning for the future, including making wills and preparing for what happens to one’s assets after death.
However, he argued that planning ahead should not come at the expense of enjoying life in the present.
“Enjoy yourself when you are here and when you die, leave the rest to those who will be alive to handle.”
His comments center on a simple philosophy: while building wealth and preparing for the future may be important, Gashumba believes people should also experience the benefits of their success while they are still alive.
