Ugandan music legend Jose Chameleone has publicly addressed ongoing attacks from events promoter Nobat Events, calling for an immediate ceasefire on social media.

In a heartfelt audio message, Chameleone accused Nobat of hopping from platform to platform, spreading false information, and insulting him—despite the fact that they have never worked together professionally.

“Nobat, I do not know why you have a problem with me because I have never worked with you as my promoter. I only work with the likes of Balaam, KT, Abitex, among others, and not you. Yet you keep attacking me online. Every time I see your posts, I only see hatred in your eyes,” Chameleone said.

Past Conflicts With the Mayanja Family

Nobat Events has previously collaborated with Chameleone’s brothers, Pallaso and Weasel, but those partnerships ended badly. During Weasel’s ‘Memories Of Goodlyfe’ show, the two parties reportedly clashed physically, with Weasel accusing Nobat of stealing concert proceeds.

Since then, Nobat has been openly criticizing and slandering the Mayanja family, prompting Chameleone to speak out.

Chameleone Threatens Legal Action

The Leone Island boss revealed that Nobat’s constant attacks have caused harm not only to his personal life but also to his brand and music career. He emphasized that if the slander continues, he is ready to take the matter to court.

“I want this message to get to you. All the words you have said about me have disrespected and embarrassed me. I want it to stop. I have seen all that you have said, and if it continues, I will request the facts from you. I have people in the law willing to take you on. Please stop,” he warned.

Social media fans have shown support for Chameleone, praising him for standing up against online harassment and protecting the legacy of the Leone Island brand. Many users noted that social media slander can be damaging, and legal action is often the only way to hold perpetrators accountable.

“It’s about time someone told him off. Chameleone has done enough for music to be dragged like this,” a fan commented.

Looking Ahead

As this feud unfolds, industry insiders are keeping a close eye on potential legal battles and whether Nobat Events will heed Chameleone’s warning. The saga highlights the high stakes of public image and reputation management in Uganda’s music scene.
