Kataleya and Kandle have no immediate plans to pursue solo music, despite advice from media personality Prima Kadarshi that the duo should explore their individual strengths.
The Ugandan music duo said they have remained focused on building their career together since starting out as Kataleya and Kandle.
“We started as a duo, so we wanted to keep it like that. We haven’t thought of solo projects,” the pair said.
The comments came during a TikTok Live with Prima Kadarshi, who encouraged the two singers to consider individual projects alongside their work as a duo.
Prima suggested that exploring solo music could help Kataleya and Kandle understand how strong each artist can be independently. She also said the experience could prepare them mentally for a possible situation where they are no longer working together, while allowing each artist to test their individual strength when the other is unavailable.
Kataleya and Kandle welcomed the suggestion rather than dismissing it outright, indicating that they were open to thinking about the possibility.
“We’ll have to think about it, and we take the advice,” they added.
For now, however, the duo’s position remains clear: their focus is on their partnership, with no immediate solo projects on the table.
The exchange also highlights a broader question facing artists who build their identities around partnerships—whether developing individual careers can strengthen a group or potentially change its dynamic. For Kataleya and Kandle, that remains a conversation for the future.
