Singer Kazibwe Kapo has made an unusual public plea to any woman who believes he fathered her child: bring the child forward for a DNA test while he is still alive.
Kapo says he is willing to establish paternity through DNA testing before introducing any child confirmed to be his to the children he already knows and acknowledges as his biological offspring.
“If there is any woman out there having my child, bring them to me and I take them for DNA testing to confirm when I’m still alive,” Kapo said.
The singer explained that he wants the issue addressed now rather than leaving it to emerge after his death, when such claims could create confusion among family members and mourners.
“I made the plea in an effort to remove any distortion that could be left among mourners who will be mourning the passing of their father,” he said.

Kapo’s concern, according to his explanation, comes from seeing unexpected deaths among public figures followed by people coming forward claiming to be children of the deceased.
He said some of these children may have been unknown not only to the public but also to the families of the deceased.
“I took this decision based on how public figures just suddenly breathe their last from unexpected incidents,” Kapo said. “Most of the time, when they pass away, there are some children who are brought forward that the world never knew about at all.”
For Kapo, the proposed DNA tests would provide clarity before such a situation arises. Any claim of paternity, however, remains a claim until it is established through testing.
The singer’s message is ultimately about settling any potential paternity questions during his lifetime, rather than leaving his family to deal with them after he is gone.
