Ugandan musician Lutty Neika has opened up about his approach to relationships, saying he would not necessarily be angry if a woman left him for a wealthier man because he believes everyone deserves the freedom to pursue a better life.
Speaking on Cruz Xclusive, the singer shared his perspective while reflecting on a previous relationship that ended in a particularly painful and unexpected way.
Lutty recalled discovering that his former girlfriend had moved on with another man after seeing a social media status announcing her traditional introduction ceremony, commonly known as Kukyala.
What made the experience more difficult, he explained, was that the two had spoken just a day before, exchanging affectionate words without any indication that their relationship was about to end.
“The woman left me and I knew about it from her status holding her Kukyala, yet I had last spoken to her a day before,” he recalled.
The musician said the sudden turn of events left him shocked, especially because their last conversation had involved expressions of love.
Despite the disappointment, Lutty maintained that he understands people have their own ambitions and may sometimes see an opportunity for a better life elsewhere.
He suggested that if a partner decided to leave him for someone financially better positioned, he would not want to stand in the way of that decision.
His comments offer a different perspective on romantic relationships, particularly the role financial stability can play in people’s choices.
Away from the heartbreak, Lutty also revealed that he has found companionship in an unexpected place — his pet rabbit.
The singer said he has had the animal for three years and has grown deeply attached to it, describing it as a companion that listens to him.
“I have had it for three years and even during that time they dumped me. I love it a lot and it listens to me. It was given to me by someone in France,” he said.
His remarks suggest that the rabbit has become a meaningful part of his life, particularly during moments when he has experienced disappointment in romantic relationships.
While Lutty did not reveal the identity of his former girlfriend, his story has offered a glimpse into his personal experiences and the outlook he has developed towards love, heartbreak and companionship.
