Ugandan music legend Mesach Semakula is receiving strong support from fellow musicians and entertainment industry figures as he prepares to celebrate a major milestone with his 50 Years of Greatness concert.
The veteran singer brought together artists, socialites, sponsors and journalists at a press conference held at Papaz Spot in Makindye on Thursday, October 29, 2026, just two weeks before the highly anticipated show.
The concert is scheduled for November 13 at Kingdom Kampala, where Semakula plans to celebrate his 50th birthday with fans and reflect on a musical journey spanning decades.
The press conference had a distinctly cultural atmosphere, with guests embracing traditional Ugandan fashion. Women arrived in gomesis, while several men wore kanzus, adding a celebratory touch to the gathering.
Among the musicians who turned up to support Semakula were Maureen Nantume, David Lutalo, Ronald Mayinja, Karole Kasita and Sophie Gombya, among others.
Speaking at the event, Semakula expressed gratitude to God, his fans and the people who have supported him throughout his career. He described the concert as an opportunity to celebrate with the people who have remained part of his journey.

“I am grateful to God for bringing me this far, and to everyone who has been part of my journey. My fans have stood by me through the years, and I don’t take that support for granted. This concert is my way of celebrating with them and thanking them for the love they have shown me,” he said.
Semakula also invited fans to join him on November 13, promising an evening of music and shared memories.
“I am ready to meet my fans on November 13. I want them to come, enjoy themselves, sing along, and celebrate with me. We have come a long way together, and I want this to be a night we will all remember,” he added.
Fellow singer Karole Kasita also praised Semakula’s influence on Uganda’s music industry, noting that his music has connected with audiences across generations.
“Papa Mesach Semakula has inspired many artistes over the years. His music has touched generations and continues to resonate with young and old alike. We can’t wait to join him on November 13 to celebrate his journey,” she said.
The celebration has also attracted corporate backing, with V&A Sherry among the sponsors supporting the concert.
Angella Mpayenda, the brand manager for V&A Sherry, described Semakula’s career as an important part of Uganda’s music story, highlighting his consistency and connection with fans.
She said the partnership reflects the brand’s philosophy, Yours to Share, adding that the company was proud to support a milestone celebrating Ugandan talent and creativity.
The concert is also drawing attention to the wider music fraternity, with fellow artists publicly recognising Semakula’s contribution and leadership. [RELATED: Aziz Azion, Ykee Benda Endorse Mesach Semakula for Uganda’s Artists’ Presidency]
