Ugandan musician Mikie Wine has accused events promoter Bajjo of repeatedly failing to pay him, claiming the promoter has accumulated unpaid balances over several years.
Mikie Wine made the allegation while discussing his experiences working with the promoter, saying the issue dates back to when he was just 15 years old.
According to the musician, he has sometimes performed at Bajjo’s events without receiving his full payment because the excitement of being on stage takes his attention away from the money he is owed.

“When I reach the show, and it’s interesting, I forget and perform for my people,” Mikie Wine said, adding that Bajjo owes him “a lot of money.”
The musician explained that connecting with fans during performances can be so enjoyable that he occasionally forgets to follow up on outstanding balances.
“Sometimes we have to enjoy the moment and you find yourself forgetting about the balance,” he said.
Mikie Wine’s comments suggest that the alleged unpaid balances have accumulated over time rather than stemming from a single recent performance.
He said the situation has occurred on several occasions, with his enthusiasm for performing sometimes taking precedence over demanding payment immediately after a show.

The comments also highlight a recurring challenge within the entertainment business, where musicians and event promoters rely on agreements around performance fees and payment schedules.
For Mikie Wine, however, the issue appears to be particularly longstanding. He traced the alleged payment problems with Bajjo back to his teenage years, saying outstanding balances have remained an issue since then.
Mikie Wine’s account is his own allegation about the payments he says remain outstanding. Bajjo’s response to the claim was not included in the source material.
