Ugandan singer Mozelo Kidz has revealed that shisha is one of the things he associates with his creative process, saying it helps him unlock his creativity when making music.
The Fresh Gang-associated artist made the unexpected admission during an interview with Galaxy TV after being asked what brings out his creative genius and inspires him to make music.
Mozelo initially appeared hesitant to reveal his answer before naming shisha.
“Can I say it here on air? It’s shisha. I wouldn’t want to spoil the young people out there but whenever I use it, that’s it for me,” he said.
Mozelo’s comments were framed as his personal experience rather than advice for others, with the singer specifically acknowledging that he would not want young people to copy the habit.

He also revealed that he has been using shisha for some time, although he could not remember who first introduced him to it.
“I don’t remember who introduced it to me though but I have used it for a while,” he added.
The revelation adds another unexpected detail to Mozelo’s personality away from his music, particularly after the singer previously spoke about what he might have been doing if music had not worked out for him.
When asked about a habit he would like to quit, however, Mozelo took a more humorous route.
Rather than naming shisha, he suggested that his biggest problem might be his obsession with fashion.
The singer joked that he probably needs to stop “dripping” too much, referring to his strong love for stylish outfits and his tendency to put considerable effort into his appearance.
For now, Mozelo’s comments leave his creative routine looking anything but conventional, while his warning about young people suggests he does not necessarily view his personal habit as something others should emulate.
Importantly, his comments describe his own perception of his creative process and do not establish that shisha objectively improves creativity or music-making.
