Kampala Restaurant Week 2025 wrapped up on a high note, drawing more than 10,000 diners to over 30 participating restaurants across the city. This 10-day culinary celebration has cemented its status as Kampala’s signature dining holiday, bringing together food lovers, chefs, and hospitality enthusiasts for a gastronomic extravaganza.

From casual brunches at The Local in Kyanja to sophisticated client lunches at La Patisserie, diners explored an eclectic mix of reimagined local staples and international dishes, all served with the distinctive flair that defines Kampala’s food scene.

“Together with our restaurant partners, we curated a memorable culinary journey that highlighted the creativity and diversity within Kampala’s dining scene,” said Isaac Langoli, Project Manager at The Pearl Guide, the driving force behind the event.

🍴 Innovation and the Digital Foodie Passport

This year, organisers introduced a digital Foodie Passport, which not only tracked over 10,000 dining experiences but also added a fun, interactive layer to the festival. Diners could check off restaurants, discover new dishes, and earn rewards, enhancing both engagement and data insights for organisers.

Now in its ninth year, Kampala Restaurant Week continues to spotlight the city’s burgeoning hospitality sector, solidifying Kampala’s reputation as a rising East African food capital.

Participating venues included top culinary destinations such as:

🥂 Enhanced Experiences for Diners

Guests were treated to complimentary drinks courtesy of Tusker Cider, Coca-Cola, and Rwenzori, adding a refreshing touch to the culinary adventure. Diners paying through Stanbic Bank Uganda’s FlexiPay also enjoyed instant cashback offers, giving a practical boost to the indulgent experience.

While the festival saw overwhelmingly positive participation, organisers acknowledged that a few restaurants fell short of expectations. Feedback collected during the event will be reviewed to refine future editions, ensuring each year exceeds the last.
