Sama Sojah is already setting the guest list for a wedding that has not even happened yet — and fellow artists and fans apparently should not expect an invitation.
The Ugandan singer and songwriter revealed in an interview with Galaxy TV that whenever he eventually gets married, he intends to keep both his introduction and wedding ceremonies strictly private.
For Sama, the events are family functions rather than entertainment industry gatherings. He said he would not invite fellow artists or fans, although a few of his closest friends could accompany him.
“A wedding is personal and even when I decide to wed, I cannot invite fellow artists or even any of my fans. It is a family function,” Sama said.

He compared the situation to professional events, recalling an incident involving an unnamed artist who was upset because Sama did not attend a press conference.
Sama said the artist had not invited him in the first place, making him question why he was expected to attend.
“I told him I was not a journalist. That is the same thing as someone’s function,” he explained.
His position goes beyond simply limiting the guest list. Sama also believes some of the traditions and practices associated with family ceremonies should remain sacred and away from people outside the families involved.
He said his own guest selection would ultimately depend on his personal relationship with the people he chooses to have around him on the day.
“You wouldn’t want to bring everybody in a space like that,” he said, explaining that guests can lose control over even seemingly small details during such ceremonies, including what they eat and which plates they use.
Sama’s comments put him at odds with the more public wedding culture often seen among entertainers, where fellow artists, industry colleagues and fans can become part of major celebrations.
But for him, marriage ceremonies are different.
When his own time comes, Sama appears determined to keep the spotlight on the families — with only a carefully selected circle of close friends allowed into the celebration.
