Sheila Salta has officially closed her four-year run at Kampala-based NRG Radio, bringing her time at the station to an end and opening the door to what she describes as a new chapter.
The media personality spent her time at NRG Radio hosting The Transit Show, the weekday afternoon programme that aired Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 7 PM.
As she announced her departure, Salta looked back on the conversations, laughter, challenges and memorable moments that defined her time behind the microphone.
“After four incredible years with NRG Radio, the time has come for me to close this chapter and say goodbye. What a journey it has been,” she said.
Salta said her experience on The Transit Show had shaped her in several ways, while expressing gratitude to the people she encountered throughout her time at the station.
The presenter also singled out her listeners, thanking those who tuned in, supported her, laughed with her and challenged her during her years on air.
“I’m deeply grateful for the people I’ve met, the friendships I’ve built, the lessons I’ve learned, and every single listener who tuned in, supported me, laughed with me, challenged me, and made me feel heard,” she said.
Her appreciation extended to the wider NRG Radio team, which she credited with giving her the platform to grow, create and connect with her audience.
“To my NRG family, thank you for giving me a platform to be myself, to grow, to create, and to connect with so many amazing people,” Salta said. “I will carry these memories with me wherever I go.”
While the departure marks the end of her four-year chapter at NRG Radio, Salta made it clear that she does not view it as the end of her media journey.
“This isn’t goodbye forever. It’s simply the end of one chapter and the beginning of another,” she said.
She added that she is looking forward to “new challenges, new opportunities, new dreams, and new adventures.”
For now, Salta leaves NRG Radio with four years of memories from The Transit Show behind her — and plenty of anticipation surrounding whatever comes next.
