Sheilah Gashumba has revealed that she does not smoke or use drugs, despite spending years working in Uganda’s nightlife and entertainment scene.
The media personality and nightlife host opened up about her personal choices during an interview on Kasuku Live, explaining that smoking and intoxicants have never appealed to her.
Shisha, in particular, is something Sheilah says she actively avoids.
Her reason is not simply a dislike of smoking. She also says her concerns about the hygiene of some shisha servers have made the practice even less attractive to her.
Sheilah has worked extensively around Uganda’s nightlife scene as a bar host and nightlife ambassador, putting her in environments where smoking and shisha are common.

Despite that exposure, she says she has never developed an interest in smoking or using drugs.
During her interview on Kasuku Live, Sheilah specifically addressed her attitude toward shisha.
She said she dislikes the practice and has personal concerns about some of the people who serve shisha at entertainment venues.
“The people serving are usually very dirty and wear black yet the heat is coming in the T-shirts and they don’t wash them. They smell so bad,” Sheilah said.
Her comments were focused on her own reaction to the experience rather than a claim that every shisha server is unhygienic.
Sheilah also explained that the way shisha servers move around venues contributes to her discomfort.
According to her, servers are often constantly carrying shisha pots as they move from one customer to another.

For Sheilah, that environment is enough to keep her away from the practice altogether.
Despite regularly working in places where shisha is popular, she says she has chosen not to smoke it.
Her position also extends beyond shisha.
Sheilah said she does not smoke or use drugs, maintaining that intoxicants have simply never been part of her lifestyle.
Sheilah Gashumba has built a public profile through television, social media, entertainment and nightlife.
Her work as a bar host and nightlife ambassador has placed her in some of Uganda’s most active entertainment environments.
That makes her decision to stay away from smoking and drugs notable because she has spent significant time around nightlife culture.
Rather than avoiding the industry itself, Sheilah has maintained her own boundaries while working within it.
Her comments also illustrate the difference between participating in nightlife professionally and adopting every habit associated with the scene.
For Sheilah, smoking and drug use are simply not things she wants to incorporate into her personal life.
Nightlife is often associated with partying, alcohol, smoking and other recreational activities, particularly in entertainment venues.
Sheilah’s comments offer a different perspective from someone who works directly within that environment while choosing not to participate in some of its common practices.
Her explanation is straightforward: she does not smoke, does not use drugs and has no interest in shisha.

Her concerns about shisha servers are based on her own observations and personal preferences.
Ultimately, Sheilah says being part of nightlife does not mean she has to adopt every habit associated with it.
Sheilah’s comments also highlight how personal boundaries can exist even within environments built around socializing and entertainment.
She has spent years working around people who smoke shisha and participate in nightlife activities, yet she has maintained her own choices.
For her, the decision appears simple.
She does not enjoy smoking, and her experience around some shisha-serving environments has only strengthened that position.
Despite her close ties to Uganda’s nightlife scene, Sheilah Gashumba says smoking and drug use have never been part of her lifestyle — and her dislike of shisha has only made that boundary clearer.
