Ugandan singer Tracy Melon has opened up about a difficult period in her life, revealing that ongoing health complications have kept her in and out of hospitals and contributed to a 13-kilogram weight loss.
The singer addressed her recent absence from the music scene during an interview with Galaxy FM, saying her struggles have been largely beyond her control.
Tracy said her health journey this year has been particularly difficult, describing it as a rollercoaster that has left her emotional when discussing what she has experienced.
“I’ve had quite a rollercoaster health-wise this year. I have had to battle with health complications that it makes me cry just talking about it. I’m better now.”
According to Tracy, there were moments when her condition became so serious that she was uncertain whether she would wake up the following day.
She used her experience to call for greater kindness toward celebrities and other people, noting that social media posts can hide what someone may actually be experiencing away from the public eye.
“When you see me on social media posting, you don’t know that last night I was caught in between life and death, just in the middle of not knowing I will wake up tomorrow or not.”
The health struggles have also had a visible effect on her appearance. Tracy revealed that she has lost approximately 13 kilograms during the period, despite people repeatedly telling her to stop slimming down.

She explained that the weight loss was not intentional but happened as she spent extended periods going in and out of hospital.
“I have lost a lot of weight, like 13 kg, and people keep asking me to stop slimming, but I wish I could. It’s not under my control; it just happened because of constantly being in and out of the hospital.”
Tracy said she is now recovering and expressed gratitude to God for her progress.
Her health update comes after a period in which her music career has received increased scrutiny, with some critics questioning her absence from the main entertainment scene. Tracy, however, says her reduced visibility has been connected to circumstances beyond her control.
The singer’s comments also come months after reports surrounding her health circulated publicly, including speculation about poisoning and hospitalization.
For now, Tracy says she is recovering and has used her experience to remind people that there can be much more happening behind a person’s public image than social media reveals.
