Ugandan music producer D’Mario has officially moved on from his long working relationship with rapper Feffe Bussi, announcing that he is starting a new chapter with his own recording studio.
The producer, who has been closely associated with Feffe Bussi’s music journey and helped create some of the rapper’s major projects, said the separation was peaceful and was driven by a desire for independence rather than disagreements.
D’Mario explained that he left the FBM setup with studio equipment he says belongs to him, as he focuses on building his own production brand.
According to the producer, the move marks a professional transition after years of collaboration.
D’Mario denies fallout rumors
Speaking about the decision, D’Mario dismissed suggestions that his departure was caused by conflict between him and Feffe Bussi.
“I have come this side to kickstart my business. The equipment were mine but had joined to work with FBM and I left in peace. It’s not true that we separated on wrong terms and I think they are improvising now.”
The producer said the decision was simply part of his plan to establish a permanent workspace where he can continue working with different artists.
D’Mario, who operates under Legend Production, explained that his work extends beyond one artist, making it important for him to have his own independent studio setup.

A move toward independence
D’Mario said the decision came from a desire for professional growth.
While his partnership with Feffe Bussi helped create a strong creative connection, the producer noted that he also works with other musicians and wanted a space operating under his own brand.
He added that Feffe Bussi is now in a position to invest in his own equipment following the success of his recent concert.
The producer’s comments suggest that both sides are moving forward separately while continuing their individual careers.
Producer reveals past earnings arrangement
D’Mario also shared details about the financial arrangement that existed during their working relationship.
He revealed that he would share a percentage of his production earnings with Feffe Bussi, although the split was not equal.
According to D’Mario, he typically gave Feffe Bussi between 20 and 30 percent of earnings from production work.
For projects that Feffe Bussi secured directly, D’Mario said the rapper would receive a 50 percent share.
The producer presented the arrangement as part of the business structure they had during their partnership.
Feffe Bussi has become one of Uganda’s most recognized hip-hop artists, known for his lyrical style and contribution to the country’s rap scene.
Over the years, producers have played a major role in shaping Uganda’s music industry, often building long-term creative partnerships with artists.
D’Mario’s work with Feffe Bussi became part of that process, with the two collaborating on projects that helped strengthen the rapper’s sound.

Why It Matters
Producer-artist relationships are often central to the success of music careers.
When such partnerships change, fans and industry observers usually pay attention because producers often influence an artist’s sound, direction, and overall brand.
D’Mario’s move highlights the growing importance of independent studios and producers building their own identities within Uganda’s entertainment industry.
After years of working together, separating creative paths can mark a major moment for both artists and producers.
D’Mario says the decision was not about ending a friendship but about creating room for personal growth and a new professional journey.
D’Mario and Feffe Bussi may be taking different paths, but the producer says their relationship remains positive as they each focus on the next stage of their careers.
