Pastor Bujjingo Criticizes Church Leaders Over Joseph Ngooma Concert Attendance
Pastor Aloysius Bujjingo has criticized fellow religious leaders for what he described as a lack of support for gospel singer Joseph Ngooma during his concert held over the weekend.
Addressing his congregation, the House of Prayer Ministries founder said he was disappointed that many prominent pastors in Kampala did not attend the event despite Ngooma’s long history of ministering in their churches.
Bujjingo argued that Christians should actively support one another, especially when fellow believers organize major events.
He praised the turnout at the concert, saying born-again Christians filled the venue and created an atmosphere of unity.
“We have leaders with evil hearts who spread hatred among people,” Bujjingo said.
He also welcomed gospel singer Damasco Ssesanga, who was present during the church service, before reflecting on the success of Ngooma’s concert.
“On Saturday, we attended Joseph Ngooma’s concert and filled Lugogo with born-again Christians. The venue became so full that some people were turned away because there was no more space.”

Bujjingo Questions Fellow Pastors
The pastor said he found it surprising that many church leaders who had previously invited Joseph Ngooma to minister in their congregations were absent from the concert.
According to Bujjingo, the lack of attendance reflected a failure to genuinely support fellow Christians beyond church services.
“There is no church among these so-called big pastors in town that Joseph Ngooma has not visited to perform, yet I didn’t see any of you at his concert. That is a sign of bad hearts,” he said.
He continued by alleging that some leaders publicly appear supportive but do not extend that support when artists organize their own events.
“These people have hard hearts. When the artist is with them, they pretend to support him, but once he leaves, they create excuses for why they cannot attend his event.”
Bujjingo urged church leaders to demonstrate greater unity by supporting one another beyond words.
Call to Support Damasco Ssesanga
While discussing Ngooma’s concert, Bujjingo also encouraged members of his congregation to support another gospel musician, Damasco Ssesanga.
He called on worshippers to attend Ssesanga’s upcoming concert, which is scheduled for August 14 at the Ndere Cultural Centre.
According to the pastor, showing up for fellow Christians during important milestones is one way of strengthening the gospel community.
Pastor Aloysius Bujjingo is one of Uganda’s best-known Pentecostal leaders and has frequently spoken publicly on issues affecting the church and gospel ministry.
Joseph Ngooma is a respected Ugandan gospel singer who has ministered in churches across the country over the years.
Bujjingo’s latest remarks center on what he believes should be stronger collaboration and mutual support among church leaders and gospel ministers.
Why It Matters
Support from churches and religious leaders can play a significant role in the success of gospel artists, whose ministries often extend beyond music into evangelism.
Bujjingo’s comments have revived conversation about how churches support musicians who regularly minister within their congregations.
His remarks also highlight ongoing discussions about unity and cooperation within Uganda’s Christian community.
For Bujjingo, the issue goes beyond attendance at a single concert.
His message was that genuine support should be demonstrated through actions rather than words, particularly when fellow Christians reach important moments in their ministries.
He encouraged believers to continue showing up for one another as an expression of unity and faith.
Pastor Bujjingo says stronger support among church leaders and believers will help strengthen Uganda’s gospel community, beginning with standing behind artists who have spent years ministering in churches across the country.
