Patricia Rose Turindwamukama, popularly known as Gold Rose, has been remanded to Luzira Prison in connection with the death of waitress and content creator Jovia Namuwulya, better known online as Jovia 1235.
Gold Rose, 21, appeared before the City Hall Court in Kampala, where she was charged with murder and aggravated robbery.
She was subsequently remanded to Luzira Prison until September 22, 2026, as investigations into the case continue.
According to the prosecution, Gold Rose allegedly committed the offences together with another suspect who remains at large.
Prosecutors allege that Namuwulya was murdered and that her belongings, including an iPhone 12 Pro Max, clothes, a bag and passport, were taken.
Gold Rose was not allowed to enter a plea when she appeared in court because the charges against her are capital offences and therefore fall outside the jurisdiction of the magistrate’s court.
The prosecution told court that investigations are still ongoing before the case can proceed further.
The case follows reports surrounding the death of Namuwulya, a waitress and content creator who was known to her online audience as Jovia 1235.
For now, Gold Rose remains a suspect in the case, while the prosecution continues with investigations and authorities pursue the second suspect who is reportedly still at large.
The matter is expected back in court on September 22, when further proceedings can be considered.
