Liane Nakaweesi may have spent years away from the main music scene, but her return to the stage at Lydia Jazmine’s recent concert has already opened a new door for her.
The “Mbilina” singer served as a curtain raiser at Lydia Jazmine’s Lugogo Cricket Oval show, where her energetic performance — including her signature dance moves — quickly got the crowd responding.
For Liane, the moment was about more than entertaining the audience. She said she had missed performing on major stages and found it satisfying to finally be back in that environment.
Now, Lydia Jazmine wants to make sure the comeback does not end with one performance.
The “One And Only” singer has offered to help Liane get back into the music scene by supporting the production of a new song.
According to the offer shared via X, Lydia said she would buy Liane a song from her favourite producer and cover the cost of a studio session at a good recording facility. She also offered to pay for the song’s audio production, video recording and editing, as well as promote the finished project online.
The gesture caught Liane off guard.

“I’m speechless, simanyi nakumanya. Only God knows,” she said in response to the offer.
Lydia’s support comes after Liane’s performance gave audiences a glimpse of the stage presence that made her recognizable before her extended absence from the mainstream scene.
Her return at Lugogo also gave the singer an opportunity to reconnect with a major live audience, with her performance helping set the tone ahead of Lydia Jazmine’s headline set.
For now, Liane has a stage comeback behind her and a potential new project ahead of her. If Lydia follows through on her offer, the next chapter of the “Mbilina” singer’s career could begin in the studio.
