Ugandan singer John Blaq is looking beyond the music industry, revealing plans to return to school and pursue a degree in Business Management as he prepares to explore new business opportunities.
Speaking in an interview with Galaxy FM, the singer said further education has remained one of his personal ambitions, explaining that he had hoped to graduate like other people but circumstances pushed him to prioritise music instead.
John Blaq said he made the decision to focus on building his music career first, with the intention of returning to the classroom when the opportunity allowed.
“I would have wished to graduate like other people, but the situation I was in didn’t allow me. I decided that I first do music and go back to school because there are a lot of things I want to do,” he said.
The singer explained that his ambitions now extend beyond releasing songs and performing. He is particularly interested in venturing into real estate, a move he believes would benefit from the knowledge and skills gained through formal business education.
For John Blaq, studying Business Management would provide a foundation for understanding how to establish and manage ventures outside entertainment.

“I believe at the right time I’ll go back to school and learn some more because I also want to be a Don. If I go back, I’d do Business Management. I want to enter the real estate business,” he revealed.
His comments offer a glimpse into the long-term plans of an artist who wants to build more than a successful music career. By considering further studies, John Blaq appears interested in preparing himself for opportunities that could extend well beyond the entertainment business.
However, the singer has not announced a specific university, enrolment date or confirmed academic programme. His return to school remains a stated ambition rather than a formally announced admission.
For now, John Blaq continues to balance his identity as a musician with plans for a future that could include education, entrepreneurship and real estate investment.
