Ugandan dancehall singer Roden Y Kabako has appealed to Swangz Avenue to reconsider the date of Konshens’ upcoming Uganda concert, arguing that Nina Roz deserves the opportunity to enjoy her debut solo concert without competing with another major music event.
The scheduling clash involves two concerts planned for December 11, 2026. Jamaican dancehall star Konshens, whose real name is Garfield Spence, is expected to perform at the Vibe Republic concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, while Nina Roz has announced her first solo concert at Lugogo Hockey Grounds.

Vibe Republic is being organised by Talent Africa Group in partnership with Swangz Avenue, with the first phase of ticket sales reportedly starting at UGX 20,000.
Speaking during an interview with BBS TV, Kabako appealed directly to Swangz Avenue, describing the entertainment company as his friends while emphasising his personal support for Nina Roz.
“Swangz Avenue are my friends but Nina Roz is my very good friend. Swangz Avenue should know that they have been holding many concerts and I want to use this chance to beg them to leave that day for Nina Roz,” Kabako said.
He also referenced Winnie Nwagi’s concert as an example of what he believes should happen when an artist has an important event.
“We want to celebrate her because we also left Winnie Nwagi to have her big day without fixing any other concerts. Please let Nina Roz enjoy her day,” he added.
Kabako’s appeal centres on giving Nina Roz room to attract her audience and celebrate a milestone in her music career without another high-profile concert taking place on the same date.
However, Nina Roz has made it clear that she does not intend to postpone her concert simply because of the clash.

During a phone interview, the singer said she was aware of the competing event but believed her local fan base would support her. She also argued that contacting the organisers of Konshens’ concert to request a date change was not her responsibility.
“I knew about that event but as a Ugandan, I’m confident that Ugandans will support me. I speak as Nina Roz who was born and raised here; I know that Ugandans will come. Come what may, I will go on with my show,” she said.
Her comments signal that she remains committed to holding the concert on December 11, regardless of whether the Vibe Republic event changes dates.
The clash presents a scheduling challenge for music fans who may want to attend both shows, particularly those interested in seeing an international dancehall star alongside supporting a Ugandan artist at a major career milestone.
For now, Kabako’s request remains an appeal rather than a confirmed change to the Vibe Republic schedule. Neither a postponement nor a new date for Konshens’ concert has been established in the information provided.
With both events announced for the same day, attention will be on whether the organisers reconsider the schedule or proceed with their respective concerts as planned.
