Ugandan Kadongo Kamu singer Kazibwe Kapo has reportedly been ruled out as the biological father of Nabaweesi Jamirah’s daughter following DNA testing, bringing a new development to a paternity dispute that recently attracted public attention.
The results were presented in the presence of Kazibwe Kapo, Nabaweesi and her daughter. According to the report, the findings indicated that the singer was not the girl’s biological father. Nabaweesi, however, disagreed with the outcome and was advised to seek further testing at other laboratories.
The dispute became public a few weeks ago when Nabaweesi appeared before the media and accused the veteran singer of allegedly failing to fulfil his responsibilities as a father.
Nabaweesi claimed that her encounter with Kazibwe took place in 2006, when the singer and fellow musician Abdu Mulaasi performed at a show in her village in Kyankwanzi.
According to her account, she spent time with Kazibwe and obtained his phone number the following morning. She said he told her to contact him if any problem arose.

Nabaweesi alleged that she later discovered she was pregnant and attempted to reach the singer, but was unable to get through to him. She said the difficulties in reaching him eventually led her to raise the matter publicly on national television.
Kazibwe subsequently addressed the controversy in a YouTube interview, expressing disappointment with the decision to take the matter to the media rather than resolve it privately.
The singer said he had previously called on women claiming to have children with him to come forward for DNA testing. He alleged that Nabaweesi chose to make the matter public instead of first pursuing a private resolution.
The newly reported DNA findings have now introduced a significant development into the dispute, although Nabaweesi’s disagreement means the matter may not be settled in her view.
Her reported recommendation to seek testing at other laboratories leaves open the possibility of further examinations. However, no additional test results were provided in the source material.
The case follows earlier reports that Kazibwe had agreed to undergo DNA testing after Nabaweesi publicly raised her claims.
For now, the reported results indicate that Kazibwe is not the biological father, while Nabaweesi continues to dispute the findings. Any further conclusions will depend on whether additional testing is conducted and what those results establish.
