Ugandan singer Lil Pazo Lunabe has declared Dr Jose Chameleone an unmatched force in the country’s music industry, crediting the Leone Island boss with inspiring an entire generation of artists.
Lil Pazo made the remarks while speaking to journalists at a press conference ahead of Chameleone’s December concert. The singer was among the artists who attended to show support, describing the opportunity to see his longtime idol again as an exciting moment.
For Lil Pazo, Chameleone’s influence goes beyond hit songs. He believes the veteran musician has earned a special place in Ugandan music history through his legacy and the number of artists he has inspired.

“Chameleone is undisputed; just the name alone is a hit. We were all inspired by him. He is the first and last musician,” Lil Pazo said.
The singer also pushed back against negative online commentary about Chameleone’s appearance, arguing that photographs and videos circulating on social media did not reflect how the musician looked when they met in person.
Lil Pazo said he was particularly pleased to see Chameleone again after last seeing him when the singer was travelling to the United States for medical treatment.
“I was so happy to see him because I last saw him when he was going to the US for treatment. He looked so good and I even told him that the cameras were not doing him enough justice. Chameleone looks so good face to face. He looks healthy,” he said.
His comments offer a personal account of their meeting, although they do not independently establish Chameleone’s current medical condition.
Beyond praising his appearance, Lil Pazo called on journalists and media outlets to exercise care when reporting on the veteran singer. He argued that Chameleone deserves respect for his contribution to music and should not be defined by unflattering images or moments that could affect his public image.

Lil Pazo also referenced international stars Diamond Platnumz and Fally Ipupa while making his point about how established musicians are presented in the media.
His remarks come as attention builds around Chameleone’s December concert, which has brought fellow musicians together to show support for the Leone Island frontman.
For Lil Pazo, the message is straightforward: Chameleone’s legacy deserves recognition, and the artist who inspired so many others should be portrayed with consideration rather than reduced to online commentary about his appearance.
