Mudra D Viral has opened up about his views on sex, marriage and polygamy, saying his Muslim faith means he cannot be intimate with a woman outside marriage.
Speaking during an interview on Sheilah Price’s podcast, the Ugandan singer said intimacy is something he believes should only happen after a couple has entered into a religious marriage.
“It’s not right. There are some sins we commit but they are wrong,” Mudra said.
Mudra also discussed his understanding of polygamy within Islam, explaining that if he were to marry another woman, he would first have to marry her and inform his existing wife.
“If I marry a woman and I want to sleep with another, it means I have to marry her too first and also inform you that I married another one so that you know when I’m not available, I’m at the other’s.”
He acknowledged that the idea of sharing a husband can initially be difficult for some women, but said some eventually become comfortable with being co-wives.
Mudra’s comments come as he continues to speak openly about the values he would bring into marriage.
The singer also revealed that intimacy would be an important part of his marriage if and when he settles down.
He said he would ideally want intimacy to happen every day, except when he is unwell, while making clear that he is speaking hypothetically because he is not currently married.
“Every day it has to happen. Maybe I don’t mean now because I’m not yet married, but if I was, that’s how it should be.”
For Mudra, the distinction is straightforward: intimacy outside marriage is against his religious beliefs, while within marriage, he views it as an important part of the relationship.
