Spice Diana is challenging Ugandan musicians to stop playing it safe and start believing they can fill some of the country’s biggest concert venues.
Her comments come after King Saha and Ray G successfully staged concerts at Kololo Independence Grounds, a venue that had long been viewed as a major challenge for individual artists.
For Spice Diana, the two shows are evidence that Ugandan artists should be willing to test themselves rather than allowing public criticism to determine how far they aim.
The singer pointed to her own career as an example. She recalled starting out with a concert at a smaller venue before eventually moving on to bigger stages, including Lugogo Cricket Oval.
She believes the same progression is possible for other artists who are prepared to take the risk.
“Artists need to stop underrating themselves; we all started small, and we have done everything they said we wouldn’t. We’ve done it all, and we’re still doing it.”
The comments also came with an intriguing hint about Spice Diana’s own future plans.
The singer, who recently travelled to Tanzania to shoot visuals for her trending song “Finally,” suggested that she could have major news for her fans before the end of the year.
“We’re in preparations before the year ends; I will have some good news.”
While she did not explicitly announce a Kololo concert, her remarks have put the possibility on the radar.
Spice Diana also referenced her journey at Lugogo, noting that a venue once considered difficult to fill eventually became a stage she successfully conquered.
“That’s the same way you used to talk about Lugogo, but we filled it up, and it’s no longer a huge venue.”
Her message arrives at a notable moment for Uganda’s live music scene, with King Saha and Ray G demonstrating that Kololo Independence Grounds can attract large crowds for individual artists.
For Spice Diana, the bigger lesson appears to be about ambition: artists who once dreamed of filling smaller venues can eventually make those same stages feel ordinary — if they are willing to take the leap.
And with the singer promising “good news” before the year ends, fans may not have to wait too long to find out whether Kololo is next on her list.
