VJ Moon Eyes Collab with Uganda’s Top Female Stars

Herbert Bukenya, better known in the entertainment world as VJ Moon, is setting his sights high. The former movie translator-turned-videographer recently shared his ambition to work with Uganda’s top female music stars, including Rema Namakula and Chosen Becky, saying these collaborations could elevate his brand and unlock bigger opportunities in the industry.

“I desire working with Uganda’s top female music stars, particularly Chosen Becky and Rema Namakula. Collaborating with them would not only be a milestone but also a stepping stone to work with legends like Juliana Kanyomozi and Irene Namubiru,” VJ Moon expressed in an exclusive chat.

From Movie Translation to Videography

VJ Moon’s career journey is nothing short of inspiring. He originally entered the entertainment industry inspired by VJ Mark, pursuing movie translation as a way to connect audiences with film content. But after a pivotal meeting with Gen. Saleh and discussions with the association of movie translators, he realized his true passion lay behind the camera.

“I loved VJ Mark, and he inspired me to join the movie translation industry. But when we met with Gen. Saleh, I realized there was more I could do. People in the Ugandan movie industry felt movie translation was affecting their market, so I decided to explore my talent for videography instead,” VJ Moon revealed.

Breaking Through in Music Videos

Since transitioning to videography, VJ Moon has already started making waves. He worked on the project ‘Ku Nnya’ with artists King Saha and Mudra, a collaboration that he credits with opening the floodgates to new opportunities.

“I chose videography because I had expertise in shooting and editing videos. Working on King Saha’s ‘Ku Nnya’ featuring Mudra really opened doors for me, and I’m grateful for that opportunity,” he said.

His vision doesn’t stop there—VJ Moon is eager to expand his portfolio, working with veteran artists and high-profile performers, positioning himself as one of Uganda’s rising talents behind the lens.
