Ugandan singer Martha Mukisa has finally spilled the tea on who tops her list of favorite artists in the country — and her choices are winning fans’ hearts.

During a candid chat on Executive Media’s YouTube channel, the “Ntibula” hitmaker didn’t hesitate when asked to name her favorite male and female musicians.

“In Uganda? Among the males I should say Eddy Kenzo,” Martha said with a bright smile. “Among the females, I like Azawi’s music. She’s my friend, and we’ve worked together before in the past when she was still a backup artist. I also love how her management is handling her.”

Why Eddy Kenzo and Azawi Made Her List

Martha’s admiration for Eddy Kenzo — the Grammy-nominated singer and current president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation — comes as no surprise. Known for his resilience and impact on Uganda’s music scene, Kenzo has become a role model for many upcoming artists.

Similarly, Azawi, a celebrated artist under Swangz Avenue, has earned praise for her consistency, creativity, and professionalism. Martha said her respect for Azawi goes beyond just her music — she’s inspired by how her team has nurtured her career to success.

“Azawi is talented and disciplined. I’ve known her since before her big break, and I’m really proud of how far she’s come,” Martha added warmly.

A Friendship Rooted in Respect and Music

Martha Mukisa revealed that her bond with Azawi goes way back to the early days of their music journeys. Before Azawi became a household name, the two worked together on several projects — experiences Martha says shaped her respect for the “Slow Dancing” star.

Fans have often compared the two powerhouse vocalists, but Martha made it clear there’s no rivalry — only mutual love and admiration.

“Azawi and I have been friends for a while,” she explained. “People expect competition between female artists, but I’m not about that. I celebrate other women winning.”

Martha on Industry Relationships: “I Don’t Do Drama”

While many artists have had their share of feuds and social media shade, Martha insists she’s keeping her circle positive and peaceful. She told fans she’s never had a serious conflict with anyone in the industry and prefers to focus on growth, not gossip.

“I haven’t experienced terrible incidents with my peers to the point of being irritated by them,” she said. “And also, if anyone has something against me, then they are lying — because I’m a very free person. I can be angry with you today, and the next day, I’m free with you.”

Her remarks stand out in an industry often marked by rivalry and public spats. Instead, Martha promotes unity and maturity among artists, believing it’s the key to building a stronger Ugandan music scene.

Fans React: “We Love This Energy!”

Fans quickly flooded the comment section of Executive Media’s YouTube video, praising Martha for her humility and honesty. Many applauded her for recognizing both Eddy Kenzo’s global achievements and Azawi’s undeniable talent.

“Martha has taste! Eddy Kenzo is a legend, and Azawi is pure fire. Respect to her for keeping it real.”

Another added:

“This is what we love to hear — women in music supporting each other instead of competing.”

Martha Mukisa’s Journey of Consistency and Class

Since breaking onto the scene, Martha Mukisa has carved her own lane with her soulful voice, sleek visuals, and consistent hit songs. From “Sango” featuring Eddy Kenzo to “Busy” and “Ex Wo,” she continues to prove she’s one of the most versatile and focused female artists in Uganda today.

Her openness about admiration, friendship, and forgiveness only adds to her reputation as one of the industry’s most grounded and relatable stars.

The Bigger Picture: Women Supporting Women in Ugandan Music

Martha’s praise for Azawi and her non-toxic approach to industry relationships reflect a growing shift among female artists — from rivalry to collaboration and empowerment.

In recent years, fans have witnessed more women teaming up to create hits, breaking stereotypes that women can’t coexist peacefully in the industry. Martha’s message reinforces that spirit of sisterhood, proving that mutual respect breeds success.

What’s Next for Martha Mukisa?

After welcoming her first child earlier this year, Martha is now balancing motherhood with her music career. Fans are eagerly awaiting her next project — and with her fresh perspective on life, friendship, and focus, many believe her next chapter will be her biggest yet.

Whether she’s celebrating her peers or sharing her personal truths, one thing is clear — Martha Mukisa is all about good vibes, growth, and gratitude.
