Rising Ugandan singer Ava Peace has set the record straight about her musical influences, revealing that Winnie Nwagi — not Sheebah Karungi — has always been her true inspiration.

In a candid interview, Ava addressed the persistent comparisons with Queen Karma and Sheebah, explaining that while being likened to Sheebah is flattering, it has never shaped her career direction.

“I don’t know what you mean by inspiring but she’s good. She has inspired everyone though I have always said it has been Winnie Nwagi for me. I have said it all the time,” Ava told journalists.

No Rivalry With Sheebah Karungi

Despite ongoing fan chatter suggesting tension between Ava and Sheebah, the singer dismissed claims of a rivalry, noting that much of the “beef” is fan-driven rather than personal.

“I’m doing my thing, building my own name. I’m not here to walk in someone else’s shadow,” she explained.

Ava, managed by Sheebah’s former manager, has often been linked to Sheebah in headlines, fueling speculation of a manufactured feud. However, Ava emphasized that she remains focused on carving out her own path in the Ugandan music industry.

Building Her Own Name

While fans continue to debate the similarities between Ava and Sheebah’s music styles, Ava maintains that her career is rooted in originality, drawing inspiration from artists she genuinely admires rather than chasing the footsteps of established stars.

“I’m not here to walk in someone else’s shadow,” Ava reaffirmed.

“Love that she’s carving her own path. No one can take that away from her,” another added.

Looking Ahead

As Ava Peace continues to release new music, fans can expect a distinctive sound and style influenced by Winnie Nwagi, while also showcasing Ava’s unique artistry.

Her transparency and focus signal a promising career trajectory, one that’s built on inspiration, individuality, and resilience — rather than industry gossip or manufactured competition.

Takeaway

By openly crediting Winnie Nwagi as her role model and dismissing fan-fueled rivalry with Sheebah, Ava Peace positions herself as a confident artist with her own vision.

“I’m doing my thing, building my own name,” she concluded, sending a clear message to fans and critics alike.
