Gospel singer Exodus is facing criticism from his estranged wife, Brenda Mwanje, who has publicly accused him of neglecting their three sons while attacking Miracle Center Cathedral pastor Robert Kayanja.
Brenda’s comments come amid a dispute over allegations Exodus has made against the pastor, under whose ministry he previously served. The singer has reportedly spoken about alleged mistreatment, unfulfilled promises and threats against people who have raised concerns.
But Brenda has challenged his decision to speak out against Kayanja, claiming the pastor has continued to help her care for the children.
“He cannot blame anyone for not helping him because Pr. Kayanja himself held his hand. He is what he is because of the platform he gave him,” she said.
Brenda also accused Exodus of using social media attention to target the pastor, whom she described as someone who has supported their family.
Brenda Mwanje Accuses Exodus of Neglecting Their Sons
Brenda and Exodus married on July 1, 2011, in a ceremony officiated by Pastor Jessica Kayanja. Brenda says they have three sons, aged 19, 14 and nine, and that their relationship has been over for a considerable period.
She alleged that Exodus has not seen their children since the beginning of the year and has failed to contact them on important occasions.
“You are busy attacking someone taking care of your children. What will happen if the pastor withdraws his hand because he is the one that helps me when I fail. I have evidence of him helping me and the children,” Brenda said.
She further claimed that Exodus did not send a message to their son on his 14th birthday, despite having been absent from other important moments in the children’s lives.
These are Brenda’s allegations; the material available does not include a response from Exodus to her claims about his involvement in their children’s lives.
Brenda Says She Has Moved On
Brenda also said she was no longer in contact with Exodus and did not know where he was living. She accused him of delaying the divorce process by saying he did not have the money to proceed.
She made it clear that reconciliation was not an option for her, saying her priority was for Exodus to take responsibility for their children.
“I, Brenda, can never get back with Exodus. I just want him to take care of his children that he abandoned. He should also stop attacking the man of God that is taking care of his children. I moved on,” she said.
Brenda’s remarks suggest that the couple’s separation has extended beyond their marital relationship into disagreements over parenting and financial support.
Dispute Over Pastor Robert Kayanja
Brenda’s intervention also brings the family dispute into the wider public disagreement between Exodus and Pastor Kayanja.
While Exodus has reportedly raised allegations about his past experience under the pastor’s ministry, Brenda has defended Kayanja, crediting him with helping her and the children.
The competing accounts highlight a deeply personal dispute playing out publicly. However, the claims made by either side should be distinguished from independently verified facts.
Exodus has not responded to Brenda’s latest allegations in the material provided. His response, particularly regarding the claims about his children and the divorce process, remains unreported here.
