Next Media presenter Brian Macona has revealed an unexpected struggle following his survival of the August 2026 accident along Entebbe Road that claimed the lives of two of his friends and workmates.
Macona says he has repeatedly been left stranded because some boda boda riders are afraid to transport him, apparently believing false reports that he died in the crash.
In a video shared on TikTok, the presenter explained that four different riders had refused to carry him after recognising him and assuming he was no longer alive.
The situation has become particularly frustrating because Macona says he has not yet been medically cleared to resume driving and still depends on other means of transport to get around.
“I have been left stranded after 4 different boda boda riders refused to ride me on their bikes. They find me and say that I am dead, and they fear transporting a ghost,” he said.
He went on to reassure the riders that he survived the accident and is very much alive.
“Please, I am not dead. I am very alive. God gave me second chance. Please ride me on your bikes. I am yet to be cleared to drive again,” Macona added.

The accident that changed everything
Macona survived a serious road accident along Entebbe Road in August 2026, but lost two people close to him: producer Badru Kasirye and colleague Isaac Nadamagye.
The tragedy attracted public attention, with incorrect reports about Macona’s death also circulating on social media.
He later returned to the public eye after seven weeks of recovery, marking an important step in his journey following the crash.
However, his latest revelation shows that the misinformation surrounding the accident has continued to affect his everyday life, even as he works towards returning to normal activities.
His appeal to boda boda riders is straightforward: he survived the crash, he is recovering, and he needs transport like anyone else.
For someone who has already endured the loss of two friends and a difficult recovery, being mistaken for a ghost by potential riders is an unusual and deeply frustrating complication.
