Ugandan singer Jowy Landa reportedly exchanged insults with revellers during a performance at Snap Lounge in Jinja over the weekend after some attendees allegedly called for her to leave the stage.
The incident turned tense when the singer, who had travelled to the eastern Ugandan city for the performance, responded angrily to members of the crowd. Footage circulating online reportedly captured her addressing the revellers through the microphone in a heated exchange.
“Who did you come to watch? You came to watch me perform. I don’t know what your name is, but you look like your mother’s f***ces,” Jowy was heard saying.
According to accounts shared by people claiming to have attended the event, the singer struggled to complete her performance after a group of revellers called on her to leave the stage. Reports indicate that she paused her performance before responding with insults of her own.

It remains unclear what prompted the attendees to demand that she leave. Some online commentators suggested that dissatisfaction with her performance may have contributed to the confrontation, but that explanation has not been independently established.
The incident has since attracted criticism from some social media users, with critics urging the singer to remain composed when faced with a hostile audience. Others have focused on the circumstances that led to the confrontation, although the available account does not establish what happened before the exchange began.
The Jinja episode also brings renewed attention to Jowy’s previous public disagreements with revellers. In 2025, she was involved in another reported spat that attracted attention within Uganda’s entertainment scene.
She has also previously drawn attention for comments directed at Sheebah Karungi’s fans, known as Sheebaholics, whom she reportedly referred to as “bed bugs” amid tensions between the two camps.
For now, key details surrounding the latest confrontation remain unclear, including why some attendees wanted the singer off the stage and whether the venue or the artist has issued an official account of the incident.
The episode highlights the tensions that can emerge when performers face an unreceptive crowd. However, without a fuller account from those involved, the circumstances leading to the exchange remain uncertain.
