Ugandan singer Spice Diana says she has never experienced serious heartbreak from a man, despite the drama and emotional pain that can come with romantic relationships.
Speaking on NBS After 5, the singer said her experiences with relationships have largely been free of the kind of major heartbreak many people go through.
“Men haven’t done a lot to me because you have to stand in love, not fall in it. You gotta keep your eyes open,” Spice Diana said.
The singer explained that the only heartbreak she can remember happened during her first year at university. Even then, she said, she does not consider the experience significant enough to define her relationship history.
“Maybe at University first year, after that, no. These other incidents are just there, saying bye to each other and that’s done,” she said.
Rather than describing a history of dramatic breakups, Spice Diana portrayed her relationships as situations where people simply move on when things do not work out.
Her comments also explain why she tends to avoid presenting herself as an authority on romantic relationships, marriage or men.
“That’s why I can’t comment much on relationships and marriage or speak about men,” she admitted.
Spice Diana’s remarks offer a notably different perspective from the familiar celebrity breakup stories that often dominate entertainment conversations. For the singer, keeping her eyes open while in love appears to be part of how she has approached relationships.
And if her account is anything to go by, the singer has managed to keep the heartbreak chapter of her love life relatively short.
