Ugandan singer Zulitums says he feels disappointed that he has not yet built his mother a house, revealing that moving her out of Kamwokya and giving her a better home remains one of his biggest personal goals.
The singer opened up about the unfulfilled ambition while reflecting on aspects of his life he wishes he had achieved by now. Despite his disappointment, Zulitums said he remains hopeful that he will eventually make the dream a reality.
“I feel I have let myself down a bit, but I’m still hopeful,” he said.
For Zulitums, the goal is deeply personal. He explained that his desire to improve his mother’s living conditions is rooted in the role she played in raising him, particularly after his parents separated when he was still a child.
According to the singer, his father left the family when he was seven years old, leaving his mother to play a central role in his upbringing.
“They separated with my mother, so you’d say for the most part I have grown up with my mum,” Zulitums explained.

Growing up largely under his mother’s care has shaped his desire to give back to her. The singer sees building her a house not simply as a financial milestone, but as a way of recognising the sacrifices she made while raising him.
Although he has not yet achieved that goal, Zulitums has not abandoned it. His comments suggest that providing his mother with a more comfortable home remains a priority he hopes to fulfil as his career progresses.
The singer’s admission also offers a glimpse into the personal ambitions that can remain important to artists beyond their public careers. While musicians are often celebrated for their songs and professional achievements, family responsibilities and the desire to support loved ones can remain significant measures of personal success.
For Zulitums, the unfinished dream is one he continues to carry with him. He has acknowledged his disappointment at not having reached the milestone yet, but remains optimistic about eventually giving his mother the home he believes she deserves.
For now, the singer’s focus remains on making that ambition possible, with the hope that he will one day move his mother out of Kamwokya and provide her with a better place to live.
