Dax Vibez is clearing the air over his absence from Vinka’s maiden concert, insisting there is no friction between the two artists despite missing their highly anticipated performance.
The Vibrationz Ent. singer was expected to perform his duet with Vinka at her August 21 concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval after rehearsing for the appearance and even attending the soundcheck the night before.
But when showtime arrived, Dax was nowhere to be seen.
His absence quickly fueled speculation, including claims that he may have avoided the performance because of Vinka’s political affiliation with the ruling NRM.
Dax, however, says that wasn’t the case.
The singer, who is also a brother to NUP president Bobi Wine, explained that he encountered emergencies on the day of the concert that prevented him from taking the stage.
“They didn’t stop me from collaborating with Vinka on the song we did, so they couldn’t have stopped me from performing,” Dax Vibez said.
“I just failed to perform due to some emergencies I encountered on the D-day. I was there for soundtesting the night before.”

Dax also pushed back against the idea that there was any political interference behind his absence, emphasizing that he makes his own decisions.
And if anyone was expecting the missed performance to create tension between the two artists, Dax says that isn’t happening either.
According to the singer, he and Vinka spoke on WhatsApp the day after the concert after rumors about his absence began circulating online.
Vinka’s team also contacted him the following morning, and the two sides cleared the air.
“We harmonized and there is love,” Dax said.
The clarification puts the focus back on what Dax says actually happened: an unexpected emergency on concert day, rather than a fallout with Vinka or a politically motivated decision to stay off the stage.
For now, Dax and Vinka appear to remain on good terms — even if their planned Lugogo performance never made it to the stage.
