Ugandan deejay DJ Nimrod has recounted a disturbing experience from a past relationship, alleging that his former partner poured hot water on his back while he was asleep after suspecting him of infidelity.
Speaking on Galaxy TV’s Deep Talk, the usually cheerful entertainer said the incident left him with burns that took time to heal and ultimately pushed him to walk away from the relationship.
According to Nimrod, the confrontation began when his partner discovered a message from another woman reading, “Hi darling.” He said the message had gone unanswered, but his partner allegedly interpreted it as evidence that he was cheating.
Nimrod claimed that while he was sleeping, the woman boiled water and poured it onto his back, leaving him injured.
“Marriage almost killed me. I entered the house, and my partner saw a message reading ‘Hi Darling’. As I was asleep, this woman boiled water and poured it on my back,” he recounted.
The deejay said the resulting burns affected him for an extended period, forcing him to wear two shirts as he recovered.
“I used to wear two shirts for at least one month because my back had burns,” he added.
Nimrod said the experience eventually became too much for him, leading him to make a decisive break from the relationship. Rather than organise a complete move, he left home carrying only his laptop bag, leaving his other belongings behind.

“One day, I got my laptop bag as if I was going to work and left home. I left behind everything else that I owned because I was tired of being in a toxic relationship,” he said.
The entertainer said he moved in with friends in Namuwongo after leaving the home, describing the experience as one that had made him fear for his life.
“I almost died. I left everything behind and moved in with my friends in Namuwongo,” he said.
His account highlights how the relationship had affected his sense of safety and why he ultimately chose to leave rather than continue living in the situation he described.
Nimrod’s claims about the alleged assault were shared during the television interview. The account provided does not include a response from his former partner, and the allegations have not been independently verified.
His story also brings attention to the seriousness of violence within intimate relationships, where suspicion and accusations can escalate into dangerous situations. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding a disagreement, physical violence can cause severe harm and should not be treated as an acceptable response to relationship conflict.
